Meet the Secclers: William Hamilton

Next up in our Meet the Secclers series, we’re introducing William Hamilton who’s recently joined our Growth team as a sales development representative. From a career spanning consulting, investment research and business development, to a love of chess, running and coffee culture, William brings both energy and insight to Seccl.

Where are you from, and where are you based now?

I’m based near southwest London and have lived in the area my whole life – so it’s very much home.

What does your career journey to Seccl look like?

My career journey to Seccl has been shaped by a mix of client-facing and commercially focused roles across consulting and investment research.

Most recently, I worked at Guidepoint, where I supported some of the world’s leading institutional investors, helping them access tailored research and insights across global markets. That role gave me the chance to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, lead projects spanning hundreds of industries, and play a key role in creating long-term value.

Before that, I was at Claremont Consulting, focusing on business development across the DACH market. I partnered with start-ups, scale-ups and VC-backed firms to support their growth and build lasting partnerships that helped them scale.

Looking back, the parts of these roles I enjoyed most weren’t just the technical side of things, but the conversations – especially with C-level executives and directors in finance and technology. Those interactions sparked my curiosity, pushed me to think bigger about the challenges businesses face, and ultimately led me to Seccl. Now, I’m excited to bring together my commercial skills, sector knowledge, and passion for the industry to make an impact here.

What attracted you to Seccl?

I joined Seccl because I wanted to be part of a company that’s genuinely transforming how financial services work behind the scenes. The energy here is different: it’s collaborative, ambitious, and focused on creating real impact for advisers, investment firms, fintechs – and ultimately their clients.

What excites me most is being here at such a pivotal moment. The financial services industry is evolving fast, and Seccl is right at the heart of that change. We’re building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of wealth and investment platforms, while enabling fintechs to launch and scale. Being part of that journey, while working alongside such a talented and driven team, makes this an incredibly exciting place to be.

What have your first few weeks here been like?

My first few weeks have been both exciting and inspiring. The team has been incredibly welcoming, and it’s been great to dive straight into the work while learning how Seccl is reshaping investment infrastructure.

I’ve really enjoyed the mix of strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving –especially seeing how our Growth initiatives make a real difference for clients and their end customers. Every day brings new insights and challenges, which makes it energising to be here at such an exciting point in Seccl’s journey.

What are you most excited about working on at Seccl?

I’m really excited to be joining Seccl’s Growth team at such a pivotal time. In my role, I’m especially looking forward to shaping and executing our go-to-market strategy – finding creative, data-driven ways to reach the right audiences and highlight the value Seccl can deliver.

I’m also keen to learn from such a talented team and contribute to Seccl’s next phase of growth. Looking ahead, I’m particularly motivated by the opportunity to help build solutions that create meaningful value for firms, advisers and their clients – and to play my part in transforming how investment infrastructure works.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

One thing people might be surprised to learn is that I spent some time studying abroad in Vienna. It was an unforgettable experience – not just because of the stunning architecture and rich history, but also because I got to immerse myself in a new culture, pick up some of the language, and adapt to life in a different environment. I also became a big fan of Vienna’s coffee culture and the way the city balances tradition with creativity.

Any unexpected hobbies or hidden talents?

I’m really into both chess and long-distance running – which might seem like an unusual combination. Chess gives me the chance to think a few steps ahead, while running pushes me physically and helps clear my head. I’m currently training to run a half marathon in Vienna next year, which is exciting - and a little intimidating!

I’m also a lifelong Chelsea fan, and love following the ups and downs of the club each season.

Welcome to the team!
