We're proud to be B Corp certified

At Seccl, we want to hold ourselves to ever higher standards. That's why we're very proud that we're now B Corp certified - joining a global community of businesses working to make the world a better place.

B Corp

Being a B Corp means that we meet the highest levels of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability - and that we're committed to maintaining them, for the long term.

Certification required us to be (rigorously) assessed across five key areas: People, Planet, Community, Governance and Customers. And we've set ourselves some equally robust targets to ensure continuous improvement against B Corp standards:

Stakeholder group Area 2 year goals
People Fair Work
  • We’re committed to treating all our people fairly. We'll continue to foster a holistic people listening strategy and people engagement approach, ensuring feedback is reviewed by leadership and teams and results translated into clear communicated actions.
  • By the end of 2026, we will develop an internal mobility strategy, supported by role clarity and succession planning, to identify career pathways and progression opportunities for existing team members and enable long-term growth at Seccl
  • We pride ourselves on our fair and just practices in our hiring and offer processes - we publish salaries on all job adverts to keep things transparent, and we’ll continue to do this as we grow, and to support reducing bias we don't request previous salary information in our applications to prevent unfair compensation decisions driven by anchoring effects.
  • By the end of 2026, we will continue to meet and exceed Living Wage standards and will review our pay and reward practices annually to ensure they remain fair, consistent and aligned with our commitment to just working practices.
Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
  • By the end of 2026, we will develop, publish and embed a comprehensive DE&I framework that clearly defines what Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion mean at Seccl, with a strengthened focus on inclusion and belonging.
Human Rights
  • Seccl have an established third-party supplier approval and onboarding process. As part of that, we will continue to assess our suppliers' alignment, approach and impact on areas such as: modern slavery, diversity and inclusion, gender pay gap, carbon footprint, against our risk appetite and operating principals.
Planet Climate Action
  • We will identify our top 5 suppliers and engage with them to gather emissions data (scope 1 & 2)
  • We will publish our carbon footprint (inline with Octopus Group's goals)
  • We will develop and publish our emissions reduction plan including updating our travel policy to encourage trains over planes, and assessing our AI emissions
Environmental Stewardship and Circularity
  • We will create a supplier code of conduct and include expectations for stewardship, human rights and environmental considerations for use across the business with third parties.
Community Government Affairs and Collective Action
  • We commit to 500 hours of volunteering per year and £20,000 of donations to our charity partners.
  • We will develop our plan on how we will continue to contribute to industry wide change (socially and environmentally).
Governance Purpose and Stakeholder governance
  • By the end of 2026, the Executive team will formally integrate B Corp principles and stakeholder governance commitments into their annual objectives, ensuring accountability for delivering progress towards recertification and long-term stakeholder impact. This will include regular reporting on progress against B Corp commitments, collective ownership of recertification readiness, and visible sponsorship of cultural and operational changes required
  • When it comes to our marketing, we must comply with Consumer Duty and FCA regulation. We will publish a formal policy outlining our commitment to responsible marketing and public relations.
