Seccl, the Octopus-owned custodian and platform technology provider, has hired Farzana Khalil, formally of Multrees, to lead its customer service proposition and help shape the strategic development of the company.

Farzana joins Seccl as Head of Customer, with over 15 years of cross-functional experience in the wealth management and the advisory platform market. Her most recent role was as Head of Proposition Development at Multrees, where she was responsible for product and service innovation – including overseeing the development of its digital platform technology and managing client regulatory change.

A well-known and respected figure in the industry, Farzana is also a passionate and vocal champion of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), having previously chaired both committees at Multrees.

Farzana Khalil, new Head of Customer at Seccl, shared: “I’m thrilled to be joining Seccl at such an exciting and pivotal point in its journey. There’s a real opportunity to redefine the way that technology is used to radically improve customer outcomes and reach even more people, and I think the team at Seccl is uniquely placed to deliver on that opportunity.

“I’ve witnessed first-hand the inefficiencies plaguing the advice industry, so I’m truly excited to be a part of real change as Seccl drives innovation in the sector, powering forward-thinking advice and investment firms of all sizes.

“I’m also thankful to be joining a team that’s passionate about championing diversity within our industry – Seccl’s transparency and commitment in this area is really admirable.”

Farzana joined Seccl on Monday 4th April – the same day that Nucleus founder David Ferguson took the helm as CEO.

David Ferguson, CEO of Seccl, added: “I’m delighted that Farzana has joined Seccl at such an exciting time for the business. Not only does she bring a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, but also an energy and enthusiasm that will be invaluable as we scale to meet our full potential.

“I’m hugely excited by the size of our opportunity here at Seccl – and have every faith that our tech will redefine the way that investments and advice work for the benefit of customers. Farzana will have a crucial role to play in helping us realise those ambitions, by strengthening our proposition, deepening our customer relationships and, ultimately, supercharging our growth – and I’m really looking forward to working with her.”

Other recent industry hires include Charlie Derricourt, who joins as Product Manager from Hargreaves Lansdown, and Mike Gingell, who joins as Operational Risk Manager from Ascentric (now M&G Wealth).
